#China2016 Pt.2

This was the part where I spent most of my trip back in my hometown. It's a little place called Mudanjiang and it's bordering Russia, which makes it very very cold in the winter, and we tend to have pretty dry summers. It was a lot of laying around and figuring things out, both about myself and "my people".

China's a place that really requires the person to fully accept the pros and cons of learning about a country. So for me, I was accepting but also not liking some of the things that I saw and experienced. Keep in mind that I did live that for half of my life, I still couldn't adjust to some of the customs... maybe because I got too comfortable in America?

Nonetheless, I did enjoy my time there, and mom got to see grandma for the last time so I'd say it was worth it. I'd do it again, but with better planning, more of a budget and maybe take a friend or someone else along instead of family.

Shooting In NYC

As I slowly start my channel back up again, I'm really hoping to up the quality and quantity of these videos, so I've decided to add more interesting content like "OOTD" and styling videos. This was day one of shooting and surprise bump-in with Zach! ^^

Day 2 was fun with Vivian and Susan, we got a lot of really good shots, here are some extras

Day 3 was my favorite look because everything I was wearing are my current favorites!

#China2016

So when I decided to go on a soul searching trip to China, I did not expect to come back still not having a clue on how to go about my dreams and goals. And then I realized that this is not an issue that I can resolve just by going on an escape trip for 3 months... but this is a great opportunity for some awesome pics.

DAY 1

Arrived at Shanghai at 11pm, slept by 1am. Then not long after, my mom woke me up at 5am to go to the hospital with her because her body was experiencing discomfort. We almost canceled our 9-day trip around Shanghai but she stuck it out and we were on the bus, ready to go at 9am.

DAY 2&3

Qiandao Lakes, Hangzhou was quite the scenery. Xihu was also beautiful even when it wasn't the most pleasant sky to go with it. We ended the night with a musical/play of Hangzhou's most famous historical fairy tales. I also started to talk more to the other children from other families.

DAY 4

I loved hanging out with everyone, Gary, Mimi, Kimberly... The Tea Village was literally the dream.

DAY 5

I was totally enjoying the process of making new friends. For the longest time, I felt like I was unable to make friends easily like that was something that I wasn't good at. But all it really takes is the right people.

Day 6

It's hard to believe that right when we were getting close with each other, the day to say goodbye is right around the corner. I was quite emotional that night, but kept most of it to myself. For me, I knew these people may or may not ever appear in my life again. What they have given me was happiness, and all I can gave back was the same in return, so I toughened up in the end and made sure that the goodbye wasn't that hard for any of us.

MHT - BKLYN

It ended up being such a beautiful day and we got a lot of nice photos as a result!

It's almost embarrassing to say that I've never been to the Brooklyn Bridge for the 4 years I've lived here. So Susan finally took me, it was kind of a workout to be honest.

JiaPets

Sometimes I draw and one day I decided to turn everyone into cats.
I started it in 2015 and finished in 2016 so there's 2 different versions of myself.

(I also do realize I'm missing a whisker in 2016, but we are gonna leave it.)

The Unexpectedly Expected MOF

foggy nyc gives me the feels

Always struggling to get up for anything that's before 10am and today was no different.

clearly posing but nobody needs to know.. shhh

feeling like i was in a wong kar wai movie

the amount of people taking pictures with this wall, haha

Today was indeed an adventure to say the least. Props to Glade for such a successful advertising campaign without it feeling like one. (Although it was a bit disappointing to see the candle-selling counter at the exit.)
